Chloe Guarnori Blog: The Pastel Trend

25-06-2012

Jeans are very light and washed with a variety of colours that stand out and are quite girlie, tailored fitted dresses have floaty bottoms, with minimal detail within the top half of the outfit, shoe wise are boat style shoes but in pastel colours, slightly brighter ear rings that have some texture and pattern, but a very subtle vintage look. Light woollen jumpers are still in seasons, but only just as the weather is getting hotter and brighter. Small and large envelope and box clutches are in season’s trends as well as big simple and sophisticated bags. It is available to buy in shops like top shop, River Island, Primark, Dorothy Perkins and online, for example: ASOS

Eva longoria is carrying off a stunning tailored, fitted dress that really shows of her figure. A very subtle pastel mint blends into the white, black and purple forming an Aztec pattern making her look very sophisticated. The thick straps and high V neck, along with the thin black belt emphasises her small waist.  The bright pink high heeled strap shoe really completes the outfit and makes it stand out from the crowd and shows of this season’s trend.

Pastels are seen most summers but it was through the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and now 2012, that the chalky colours leave a big impact.

1960’s Pastels

Pastel colours and outfits have been used by many different designers: Tommy Hill figure, Christopher Kane, Valentino, Calvin Klein and many more, but the designer that has caught my eye is Versace. Versace have paired the pastel colours with more detail and incorporated a studded affect. A neat embroidered pastel colour pattern of cross stitch and some French knots make it look more fun and blend into the sporty style which is also very much in season and a current trend.
