Returning to learning could be the first step in getting you where you want to be. It's your chance to get back to work, launch a new career or simply indulge an interest.
Learning doesn't have to be about getting a qualification; there's much satisfaction from just getting to grips with something new and proving to yourself that you can do it. You don't have to make a big time commitment to learn something new. Most of the courses take only 1 or 2 hours a week.
Amongst the variety of courses on offer, be it learning with a view to finding work, or just learning to develop life skills and to acquire new abilities, include a series of health an fitness modules, and introduction to beauty therapy – manicures, facials, pedicures, and eyebrow shaping; body conditioning aromatherapy; massage, Indian head Massage, reflexology; yoga; reiki; and Pilates. All of these disciplines are directly related to the lifestyle needs and qualities associated with modelling and life affirming aspects of the working in the fashion industry.
With a commitment to improving the marketing of courses and programmes, one of the immediate benefits of the merger will be to develop an increasing role for employer engagement and participation into the delivery process, and so boost the opportunity for current and future partners to devise and develop an enlivened range of innovative schemes in line for the broader regeneration objectives of the Borough.
By the end of the year, a full Business Development Unit is likely to be fully operational, and will set the tone for a more commercial and vocational element to the College in a broadened offer that will see more better skilled and better qualified local people achieving better quality jobs in the area.
