Rockin’ around the catwalk…

However let us not forget the Clothes Show, where every first week of the Christmas month budding fashionistas head to Birmingham for an event which is as chic as the clothes on the catwalk.
The Clothes Show plays host to a mass of designers, retailers and brands all showcasing their trademark creations. This year the show turned 21 and in true style we were treated to celebrity fuelled fashion shows, glamorous makeovers, free snacks and even a relaxing massage by energetic exhibitors.
Amongst the ocean of Ugg boots, sparkling big shoulders and velour tracksuits we all scramble in screaming at 10am on the dot – much to the horror of the patient stewards. Here we then wait in line for old favourite Juicy Couture, and the nations latest sweetheart Paul's Boutique to see what seductive offers we can be tempted by.
Over in the style corner we are bombarded with offers for tarot readings, manicures, hair straightening and more, but decide to settle for a glass of fizz in the Pink Bubbles champagne bar before heading to the 6,500 seated theatre for the fashion show.
Featuring a gallery of gorgeous clothes, models and dancers, Dave Berry and Cary Franklin co-present the spectacular Christmas themed show. Scenes of a school disco, vampire brides and sexy Santa dolls all get the taste buds flowing, and wet our appetite for an afternoon of shopping.
In my shopping basket? A brown leather Billy Bag, new cowboy boots with vintage tassels, and a bundle of Fake Bake products that would make any professional WAG proud. After all, if you aren't wandering around the show laden with shopping bags you certainly do feel out of place.
Should you be looking for a quieter shopping experience with not so many fashion-hungry teenage girls, then stay well clear. But in its own right this was an exciting day out full of festive and flirtatious fun.
