What’s Trending This Week?
It is officially party season, and Net-A-Porter and Reformation have collaborated to create an edit just for it. The cult US brand makes all of its limited-edition collections using ethically sourced materials and sustainable processes, and this is the first time their pieces are available globally. Fans of the brand include Karlie Kloss, Taylor Swift and Rihanna, and prices range from £100 to £315 – so it’s gorgeous, affordable, well-made fashion that also has a conscience. The collection dropped on Friday 11, so I’d be heading to Net-A-Porter sharpish – their vice president of global buying promises that it’s going to be an “incredibly popular collection”…
Fashion Award update: uber-successful fashion photographer, Bruce Weber, is to be honoured with Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator at The Fashion Awards 2016 next month. The award will celebrate Webster’s longstanding career and “his pure talent, his undeniable creativity and his singular warmth and generosity,” commented Chairman Natalie Massenet. Taking place on December 5 at the Royal Albert Hall, Weber will follow in the footsteps of last year’s winner: Nick Knight.
This week marked the launch of Stella McCartney’s Menswear line (along with her spring 2017 womenswear presentation), and the designer decided to celebrate the location with a rather fabulous party at Abbey Road Studios. The designer commented that her new menswear offering (and her brand) are all about ‘humour and versatility’, which resulted in a striking range of wearable menswear – with everything from textured jackets to slogan scarves. Ditching the conventional catwalk model for a presentation/party, McCartney said, “As a house we really don’t take ourselves too seriously. We’re not approaching this in a conventional manner; we don’t want to do it in the same way as everyone else. We’re starting something new and we wanted to do it in a new way, because this is like nothing we’ve ever done before.”
DONALD TRUMP. IS. THE. PRESIDENT. OF. THE. UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. Errrrrrrmm…………………

Though I am certain that everyone must be aware of it, on the 9th November President Electorate Donald Trump was crowned the next President of the USA, beating rival Hilary Clinton (despite every fashion model Instagramming a little pro-vote propaganda with the hashtag #ImWithHer on the eve of the election) in an incredibly tight vote. Regardless of your political standing, “the sun will rise in the morning”, as Obama predicted, and it seems that all we have to do now is wait in anticipation to see what America will become under Trump’s rule, and how his actions will influence the world. Help us all.
Hillary Clinton addressed her supporters following the news in a speech, stating, “To all the little girls who are watching this, never doubt that you are valuable… and deserving of every chance… to pursue your own dreams.” Well said.
