What’s Trending This Week?

Paris was the last to be hit by the fashion week storm and it all commenced this week. Maria Grazia Chiuri debuted her first collection for Christian Dior which was inspired by fencing, featured graphic t-shirts emblazoned with “We should all be feminists”, and featured the most-insane frow EVER (Kate Moss, Rihanna, Karlie Kloss and so many more). Balmain’s show attracted the Kardashian Klan and showcase Rousteing’s more fluid – but still utterly glamourous- approach for the season. Rihanna held her super-sporty Fenty x Puma show, which featured models such as Sara Sampaio, Jourdan Dunn and Doutzen Kroes, and attracted the sort of hyped-up crowd you could expect from a celebrity-endorsed collaboration. Lanvin was another design house to have a new Creative Director, and Bouchra Jarrar took her bow hand-in-hand with none other than Karlie Kloss. Anthony Vaccarello lost his Yves Saint Laurent virginity, bringing back the classic YSL logo to the excitement of yet another insane frow (hello JANE BIRKIN!).

Now onto the parties… Oliver Rousteing threw a massive and star-studded Balmain after-show party, which attracted all sorts of beautiful people such as Grace Bol, Josephine Skriver and the many Kardashians. Karlie Kloss (she’s been pretty darn busy, hasn’t she?) hosted an Atelier Swarovski luncheon to showcase her collaboration with the brand, and took a celebratory selfie with bestie Derek Blasberg.

Gigi’s prankster, Vitalii Sediuk, struck again on Wednesday. His chosen victim was Kim Kardashian West, who he attempted to kiss the bottom of in an effort “to popularise natural beauty among teenage girls.” I applaud his intentions, but the result of his ‘prank’ was rather embarrassingly pressed to the floor face-down by West’s incredibly large security guard – which maybe wasn’t the image he was going for. Regardless, I ended up writing about it so…

This week politics and a certain up-coming election were most-definitely hot topics. Donald Trump and Hilary Clinton united on stage for a friendly exchange (not) as one of their first of three televised debates in the race for the coveted White House. Kendall Jenner did her bit by taking part in a special episode of TRL in honour of National Voter Registration Day to try to encourage as many people to sign up and vote. Michele Obama also made her opinions clear regarding the election, saying in a recent speech “When making life or death, war or peace decisions, presidents can’t just pop off or lash out irrationally. No, we need an adult in the White House, I guarantee you.” What’s your verdict?

Tom Hiddleston’s press persona came out of hiding this week following his separation from Taylor Swift; the rather suave actor posed for Gucci in his first campaign for the brand, which consequently went viral.

Karlie Kloss, who was of course in Milan for fashion week (and then onto Paris), also found to the time to attend a wedding with her “wedding date”: Princess Beatrice (Kloss’s connections never cease to amaze) this week. The wedding was that of Alberto “Tico” Mugrabi and Colby Jordan and took place in the absolutely gorgeous south of France.

Monday was a pretty fun and crazy day for Kate Hudson, who at the end of the night found herself being carried by former Prime Minister Tony Blair, Sylvester Stallone and two cast members from Cirque de Soleil. Undoubtedly, Hudson’s extremely average Monday made front-page news
