What’s Trending This Week?
This week saw the end of London Fashion Week (sad times), but the beginning of Milan Fashion Week (yay!). The most exciting – nay dramatic- news so far? Gigi Hadid got man-handled in the streets of Milan as prankster Vitalii Sediuk tried to pick her up; the display was aimed to showcase his distaste at Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner being considered as ‘high-fashion’, calling them “well-connected cute girls from Instagram”. Taking to twitter, Gigi posted: “I’m a HUMAN BEING and had EVERY RIGHT to defend myself. How dare that idiot thinks he has the right to man-handle a complete stranger. He ran quick tho.” That is girl who certainly knows how to defend herself.
Other MFW news: Bella Hadid opened the Fendi show, Fergie and Paris Hilton (?!?) made an appearance at the Philipp Plein display, and Gucci once again left show-goers lusting after pretty-much everything Michele created. The Milan Fashion Week Opening Breakfast attracted influencers such as Franca Sozzani, Donatella Versace, Anna Wintour and Giorgio Armani, and consequently was a ridiculously elegant affair. A Gigi Hadid x Max Mara event took place on Wednesday, attracting fans in the thousands. PETA also took to Milan, championing Vegan fashion the old-fashioned way: with a big, loud megaphone.
It was revealed on Tuesday that Brangelina will be no more. One half the super-couple, Angelina Jolie, had filed for a divorce – the cause their “irreconcilable differences”. A statement read that Jolie “will not be commenting, and asks that the family be given its privacy at this time.” Of course, the internet was filled with a cascade of tweets pronouncing ‘love dead’ and other exaggerated statements – after all, it’s happened all before…

The Emmys took place this weekend, with the hit-series Game of Thrones gaining 12 awards. The cast – including Emilia Clarke, Kit Harington and Peter Dinklage – came together on the red carpet to look fabulous and soak in the well-deserved success.
Victoria’s Secret angel Behati Prinsloo welcomed her first child on Wednesday. Named Dusty Rose, the child’s father, Adam Levine, cancelled many Maroon 5 concerts in anticipation of the birth – consequently causing even more hype. Up next is Candice Swanepoel, who is another angel expecting a baby very shortly.
Great British Bake Off fans had another reason to be utterly depressed this week as Mary Berry confirmed that she will leave the show when it transfers to Channel 4. #GBBO shock
