What’s Trending This Week?

On Friday Gigi Hadid was pictured on the set of Calvin Harris’s new music video in Malibu, along with his girlfriend: Taylor Swift. Dressed in a long-sleeved mesh-effect bikini top, she proved that she really can pull ANYTHING off. #notjealous

Lindsay Lohan and Jeremy Scott were photographed at the i-D 35 x Jeremy Scott for Moschino party in London on Wednesday, looking both happy and extremely accessorized.

Glastonbury came and went this week, but not without Kanye West’s controversial headline performance on Saturday Night. The show featured a mix of old and new songs (+ swearing) with an eye-watering intense light show of a bank of white lights above the US rapper’s head, and he ditched backing dancers for simply “the greatest living rock star on the planet” – he told the crowd. Yeezusssss!

Louis Vuitton’s men’s artistic director Kim Jones shared a photograph of Kate Moss (wearing an exquisite embroidered pink bomber jacket) on Instagram this week, with the caption, “Last night in Paris, Kate in Spring/Summer 2016 Men’s collection preview ️.” The backdrop a beautiful river (not sure which river as my geography skills are awful), the perfect selfie was very much achieved!

Jourdan Dunn shared a photograph on Instagram of Victoria’s Secret model Arlenis Sosa (who naturally looked stunning) marrying basketball player Donnie McGrath on Tuesday. Dunn captioned the picture, “Watching her walk down the aisle gave me chills. So elegant, so beautiful, so HAPPY!! Wishing you both a lifetime of laughter, love and happiness!”

A floral silk crepe dress worn by Marilyn Monroe in her last film, Something’s Got to Give, is expected to fetch between 300,000 and 500,000 dollars at an auction in Beverly Hills later this week – so if you fancy some vintage fashion once worn by an icon, cash your cheques now!

The Gucci menswear show took place on Monday and included over-size glasses, trench coats and quirky scarves (and sequins!?!).

Minions are very much in fashion, this week especially, as they now have their very own Vogue cover. Admittedly it won’t be going on sale, but Vogue’s Suzy Menkes created a mockumentary featuring designers like Stephen Jones and Dolce & Gabbana explaining how the Minions have always been a big part of their lives. Check it out or Instagram the cover if you too can’t help but the Minions.

Victoria Beckham’s New Merged Line was released on Wednesday (much to the fashion world’s anticipation) and encompassed her Victoria Beckham Denim line and her Victoria, Victoria Beckham line, which resulted in the frivolity of the circus inspiring the aesthetic and used “striking colour combinations and graphic motifs of fairground iconography” as her starting point. Victoria’s aim in creating the new line was to offer “a broad range of separates for the first time” and that have “a sense of fun”. In my opinion, her goals have been achieved (check out her new line to get inspiration or just simply indulge!).

London Bridge has been transformed as a part of the Spark Your City movement, which aims to transform cities into playgrounds and resulted in the bridge being coated in rainbow tiles.

It’s time to “totally pause,” as twenty years after its cinematic release, Clueless, the musical has been confirmed by the film’s director, Amy Heckerling. “I’ve written the, what they call the book and it’s a jukebox musical,” said the director. She kept many of the details quiet in her TV interview on Entertainment Tonight, but she did comment on the casting, admitting: “That’s like going to be like the main problem”. With fashion theatre (not drama) becoming the new ‘IT’ thing, all the left to do is anticipate what the amazing costumes will look like, and watch the film one more time…
