Lindsay Lohan, renowned American actress, model and singer and now, fashion designer shot to fame in 1998 after her motion picture debut in Disney’s remake of the parent trap. In 2008 and 2009 Lohan made a brief encounter with the fashion industry as she worked as a fashion model and went on to launch the clothing line 6126.

The collection which has been “long awaited” for has just launched, inspired by Lindsay’s personal “boho-chic” off-duty style, features endless amounts of fringing, flares and flashes of colour. With Seventies influences from Saturday night fever to hippy deluxe taking the spring/summer 2015 catwalks by storm, Lavish Alice, who praise their designs of a ‘high fashion aesthetic ’ on a high street budget captures this trend well, think soft tailoring, flares and plenty of fringe. Modelling the collection is Lohan herself, in a series of shots taken by industry heavyweight Rankin. Inspiration of the clothing comes, says the screen star, from her own wardrobe and, as a result, ranges from expressive creative to laid-back LA cool, albeit with a 70s twist.

Commenting on the collaboration, Lohan says, “I’ve always loved the 70s and this look embodies Bianca Jagger in Studio 54 and everything that was great about that era”. A personal fan of the brand since relocating to the UK, Lohan has been spotted wearing several pieces from the label before the launch of her own collection. “I have been a huge fan of Lavish Alice since moving to London, it’s a cool British brand and a collaboration with them was a natural next step.”

Lindsey explained her wishes to fulfil the needs not only for her own image but the requirements of her fans. “The pieces really worked for my busy lifestyle and make me feel confident and sexy. I hope my fans love it as much as I do”.

Matthew Newton, director of Lavish Alice comment on Lohan’s style and image: She has fun with fashion and doesn’t take it too seriously – she’s creative and experimental with her apparel choices. Known for our statement style, customers shop at Lavish Alice for something different and unique and that’s exactly what the Lindsay Lohan collaboration represents.”

Lindsey who has fought a well-documented battle with drink and drugs, has been looking happier than ever in recent weeks now her most recent round of legal woes are finally behind her. However news of her collection have sparked some uproar and negativity. Daily Mail article comments quotes: “No. I would not want to dress like her. Just no. It all looks like cheap crap”

It’s clear that it will take time for Lindsay to crack the industry and gain the approval of many that have watched her over the years, but what is more therapeutic than fashion! The collection is available online now.
