Big is beautiful

{mosimage}They say that ‘Big is Beautiful’ and that every woman should embrace their curves to their full potential. However, many larger women find it hard to feel themselves in the clothes that are available in retail shops, as they are usually old fashioned and shapeless, falling drastically behind the trends and what is fashionable at the time. Sure, we have seen a huge increase in sale for Evans, and have seen places like New Look expanding their sizes to a size 24.  But is it enough? It is clear by this that there are more woman in society who are bigger than an ideal size 10, than there are who are smaller so it is about time that retail stores recognised that the average woman is a size 12-14, not what graces the cover of Vogue. The bigger clothing market needs a change and I have found just the people to help this change develop.

{mosimage}Let me introduce Popeau and Hall Plus. They are an online store aimed at young professional women with a twist…women who are sized 18 – 40 and proud of it. The range is designed ‘In-House’ so you won’t see any other labels other than their own. They are a strong label who have recognised that there needs to be a change in the retail market and are dedicated in giving their consumers exactly what they want. To top it off, as well as their generic range, they now offer a bespoke service to ladies who are size 32 – 40, to find out more, email the bespoke team on bespoke@popeauandhall.com .

The range Popeau and Hall Plus have to offer is a mix between modernity and clothes which are comfortable but make the customer look smart, professional and chic.

{mosimage}London Fashion Week is approaching all fashionistas in February and Popeau and Hall Plus are looking for stunning plus size models (women only-sorry guys!) aged between 18 – 35 who are between 5 ft 5 – 5ft 8 in height to help bring their clothes to life.

This will a great opportunity to launch your budding modelling career and make fantastic contacts within the fashion industry – not to mention showing all fashion big wigs what a larger woman can offer to the catwalk (move over Kate Moss!).

There is also a major plus size exhibition opening in June 2006 called ‘WomenXL’ which targets plus size women. Details of this can also be found on the website.

( N.B The age restrictions on the website state that they are looking for women aged between 20- 26, however they have now expanded their age restriction to 18 – 30 years )
