London Fashion Week – Eudon Choi

 

 As the ‘fashion press’ entered the main door the first thing in sight was an Arctic exploratory moving image haunting white wooden chairs. A clever use of space and props (binoculars) yield to the designer’s method of presentation.

 Traditional heavier fabrics are varied in their hues, uplifting the idea of a ‘heavy winter coat’. Strong pops of glacial blue, robust brown, bright white compliment the faded grey shades. With Choi’s background in menswear, we are able to spot geometric panels, sharp tailoring creating highly desirable coats for the colder months. Fitting directly in with the Polar Expedition theme across his collection are his skull-caps which range in materials shown by the girls. Headpieces were spotted; polar grey leather, strong white suede and hand crushed sequins (personal favourite) along with fur lined pieces.

The collection ranged from naval/jersey tops to body contouring leather skirts with elegant use of decorative sequins that mimic the frosted glisten across the polar landscapes. Jules Wright from the Wapping Project helped with set and styling, projecting Choi to new highs. The key elements to the successful delivery of his debut show relied on striking must-have panel-structured coats, interesting use of moving image and audience interaction.
