Fashion Enter at Regent College for UNION Fashion Week

A selection of industry professionals from within the company took to the stage to talk to the students about the fashion industry and then a group of designers had the opportunity to sell their collections.
Fashion Enter Director, Jenny Holloway was the first to speak, introducing the students to the company and providing lots of business advice. Many of the students were international and study business or marketing degrees so were interested in learning about the fashion industry from that point of view.

Nigel Rust, business and manufacturing specialist, took the students through the importance of manufacturing in the fashion industry. Important points covered were finding a good manufacturing company and the different types of manufacturing on offer.

One of the designers who has worked with Fashion Enter, Vjera Vilicnik, talked to the students about her experience going from student to fashion designer and owning her own business. She talked to the students about the importance of constantly learning and applying for jobs to support yourself and increasing your skills base.

Creative manager, Jenni Sutton, talked to the students about the events and PR side of Fashion Enter and the importance of PR within the fashion industry. Tips included how to write a press release and target press and media.

Lastly, Retail Manager, Syreeta McQueen took to the floor. With years of experience in retail, she spoke about finding good boutiques to sell your garments and getting your product out to the public.

After all the talks and presentations, the students had the opportunity to buy designer garments and they had quite a selection to choose from! British country chic label Henry Hunt, accessory label Luxx London and stylish label Vjera Vilicnik were just some of the labels taking part. Models also wore some of the garments to showcase to the students. A good day was had by all.
