hermesaw14The designer, who guided the French fashion house to financial success during his time, swiftly joined the brand in 2010 following the departure of Jean Paul Gaultier. The designer will show his final collection during Paris Fashion Week for SS15.

Hermès CEO Axel Dumas commented on the designer’s departure, “I am very grateful to Christophe for the passion with which he has addressed and enriched the expression of our house in women’s ready-to-wear.”

Leaving to focus on his own brand, Lemaire has left on postitive terms, commenting: “I am proud of what we have built together. My own label is growing in an important way and I now really want and need to dedicate myself to it fully.”

There is no news yet as to who is set to replace Lemaire, the favourite is said to be The Row’s Nadège Vanhee.

Vanhee who has previously worked under other big fashion houses, Celine and Margiela, has established quite a name for herself while working alongside the Olsen Twins of The Row, known for her sophisticated luxury designs and clean cut silhouettes, she seems the perfect match for the fashion house, however is yet to comment.
