On Thursday North West (Kimye’s daughter) attended a ballet class with her cousin Penelope Disick, where the twosome re-enacted their own version of Swan Lake in their contrasting costumes (not too much like Black Swan I hope).
Marc Jacobs enjoyed a dinner date in Rome with Kate Moss. He posted an image on Instagram with the caption, “Look who’s come to dinner…!! My straight boy fantasy….Miss Moss.” I’m sure that many people have had fantasies’ about that certain 41-year old mega-model Marc… Other MJ news included Cher being unveiled as Marc Jacob’s new campaign star, donning a nude lip and full length black pleated skirt (which personally reminds me of my school uniform WAY too much), juxtaposed against a russet coloured backdrop.
Blake Lively has shown off the fruits of many design collaborations this week, including one with Sam & Lavi that features leaf-print playsuits and dresses. She captioned the image on her Instagram account with the caution: “Beware – don’t feed the ducks flattery. It dangerously swells their ego. And tummies apparently. Someone pass the spanx.” Amour Vert is another designer that she has collaborated with for her website: Preserve, releasing an image of a sophisticated cream midi dress with a geo-pattern circle skirt to wetten her follower’s appetite for the design collection. #LivelyStyle
Cara Delevingne and Kate Moss have been unveiled as the new faces of Mango’s new Autumn/Winter 2015 campaign called #somethingincommon – with Cara’s Instagram account acting as the perfect tool for publicising the shoot.
A road (actually!) melted in New Dehli, India, on Thursday, as temperatures reached up to 45 degrees Celsius – and consequently created a swirly pattern that looked rather cool but was clearly not at all practical. It is thought that more than 1,500 people have lost their lives in the heatwave so far – so let’s stop complaining about British weather!
Designer Vivienne Westwood read extracts from Alice’s Adventures In Wonderland on Thursday to celebrate its 150th anniversary at her boutique in Mayfair. Westwood has created a cover that features her harlequin print and an image of Alice; she has also written the introduction to the book and added several pages about her views on capitalism, the environment, sustainable energy and activism to the new edition. Yay for Vivienne!
Never-before-seen pictures of Marilyn Monroe – including the one featured here – have been revealed as news emerges that they are allegedly going under the hammer at Dreweatts & Bloomsbury Auctions in London on June 4. Who wants exclusive images of an icon? Me!
To mark its report into the preferred lipsticks of destinations around the world, Heathrow airport has commissioned micro-sculptures by artist Hedley Wiggan in the shape of a lipstick, depicting major landmarks (such as: Big Ben, The Eiffel Tower and The Statue of Liberty) to which it flies.
On Tuesday, Tommy Hilfiger celebrated the 30th anniversary of his brand in Beijing by opening his largest store in China and holding a fashion show that showcased his Autumn/Winter 2015 collection again, this time with the addition of 15 never-seen-before menswear looks (ooh exciting!).
Roberto Cavalli has unveiled Ciara as its latest campaign star (and the concept of the shoot is rather intriguing – blue walls, large deposits of sand and an ottoman that is supposed to be a surf board? – I’m slightly confused). The American singer appears to be picking up the model baton from fellow songstresses Rita Ora and Nicki Minaj, who appeared in the Italian fashion house’s campaign for the last two seasons respectively.
Karlie Kloss celebrated throwing the first pitch on Monday at the St Louis Cardinals baseball game – her home team – and posted a picture on Instagram to prove it with the caption: “I diiiiiiiiiiid it!!!!!! (I have not been this nervous for ANYthing in YEARS!!!!! I am SO relieved my pitch made it across home plate!)”. The model returned home early at the weekend to practice throwing the ball with her dad – you just can’t help but love Karlie’s all-American, positive spirit!
Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner, and Bella Hadid took a (joyfull) selfie with Lewis Hamilton before the Monaco Grand Prix (let’s hope they didn’t put him off!) – where they all donned appropriate (and identical) headgear.
