Primark Continues Global Expansion As Sales Rise

Despite cautious times in the retail sector sales at Primark were 13 percent ahead of last year at constant currency, a result that has mainly been driven by an increase in retail space of 9 percent.
Like-for-like sales at Primark were 1 percent up on last year reflecting influential sales in new markets such as France and the US. Spain, Ireland and Portugal all performed well and the UK continued stable like-for-like results. The company has opened 20 new stores this financial year which included moves to larger premises in Northampton and Marcia, Spain along with the company’s first store in the US and new outlets in Germany, Belgium and The Netherlands.
Primark aims to continue its expansion plans for the new financial year with more stores scheduled for the US, Spain and France along with it’s first Italian venture at a new shopping centre located in the North-West of Milan.
