HMPS Join Us for Another Industrial Stitching Course – QLS
15-09-2024
We are delighted to welcome back the HMPS participants again to our highly successful Stitching course as part of the ABC Awards Quality Licence Scheme.
For the second year running we are working closely with the HMPS to support on stitching and fabric cutting courses as well as supporting HMPS to make curtains and uniforms for inmates.
The group of five attendees had very little experience of using the state of the art industrial machines at our Stitching Academy but they absolutely grasped the importance of speed, agility, control and adaptability of the machines with the different types of fabrications.
Jenny Holloway undertook an observation of the class on day two and commented:
“I was really impressed by the planning and organisation of the sewing course with lead tutor Ana and support from technician Leyla. When I came in to observe I noticed that the agenda was fully accessible and on display, time lines were being adhered to and the class was organised and prepared. Six overlockers were ready with all matching threads so the attendees could follow the complex threading of the overlockers step by step.
“Ana had encouraged each learner to take videos too so they can keep the information for the future. Leyla has over 45-years of experience in stitching and was on hand to support the learners too.”
Looking forward to receiving the feedback and welcoming HMPS to visit us again in the near future.
