Fashion Roundtable: Taking the Industry Positively Forward
09-12-2024
New Year’s are not just about looking ahead – but they are also about looking back; reflecting on what has been achieved, what is working well and how to build on those positives.
Throughout 2018 FashionCapital’s sister company Fashion Enter Ltd once again gained Fast Forward Leading Status, acquired funding and support to open a brand new Tailoring Academy, made the voice of ethical UK manufacturing heard in Parliament, on TV, Radio and in the press and launched its very own in-house label Belles of London. And let’s not forget all the apprentices, learners, designers and start-ups that have benefited from tuition, support, mentoring, advice and on-site services.
A political industry group that Fashion Enter have joined, discussed and debated with over the past year is Fashion Roundtable. The Fashion Roundtable team is made up of experts from fashion, business, economics and politics, dedicated to long-term strategic and sustainable growth for the entire, global fashion industry. As a non-partisan and independent voice Fashion Roundtable consult across fashion and business to support the diverse needs of the industry. From Brexit to the gender pay gap, equality across the supply chain to inclusivity, there is much to discuss and push forward on the political agenda.
FashionCapital / Fashion Enter CEO Jenny Holloway is a regular attendee to Fashion Roundtable’s events including the last one held in December to discuss ‘Fashion and Sustainability’. A previous Fashion Roundtable meeting also included a site visit to FashionCapital’s HQ in North London. The group were invited to tour Fashion Enter’s transparent factory and learning facility meet with Jenny and the team and discuss the potential impacts of Brexit with staff regarding their jobs and the right to remain.
Fashion Roundtable is proving to provide a formidable voice for the fashion industry. The next topic up for discussion is the future of fashion; tech, AI, sustainability and a whole lot more, the ‘Fash-Tech, AI and Fashion Futures’ event will take place at GCU London on the 7th February, just before London Fashion Week.
