 As the sun generously graces our benevolent borough this fine Summer, our growing concerns over global warming, wasted resources and increasing landfill sites anticipated to affect all of our, if not our descendants lifestyles one day in the not so bright future. Well, fret no more, in a world of constant environmental, economical and political strife, an exciting opportunity requesting your creative contributions within the crucial eco-friendly revolution in order to save our planet has arisen. Unleash your creative flair this Summer, and delve into your artistic, yet environmentally conscious person by producing your very own inspirational design to be featured on a series of re-usable bags throughout Croydon stores later this year. Not only will your design feature throughout the Croydon consumer’s everyday wardrobe, your innovative creation will improve the current state of environmental affairs throughout the UK by promoting eco-friendly fashion in a stylish awareness campaign by involving local communities to prevent such vast environmental problems in the future.  The average individual uses 167 non bio-degradable plastic carrier bags every year amounting to an obscene 13 billion plastic bags across the UK, most of which are used just the once before disposal. This unique initiative could potentially reduce this frightening figure by a staggering 5.1million aiding the GLA’s 25% reduction target by 2008. The designs must be innovative and inspirational to achieve adequate reduction of plastic bag consumption and encourage general awareness of this global issue. If you think your design can help tackle this proverbial problem and change the state of the world, please submit your application on a piece of A4 plain paper either by post, email or hand (details below).
