The
premiere for American hit TV show Sex and the City took place this week and the
fab foursome did not disappoint. Read on for an exclusive insight in the world
and wardrobes of Carrie and friends....
The unbearable anticipation of awaiting our favourite fabulous four to hit the big screen is finally over, and much to the dismay of New York's entire female population, "Sex and the City: The Movie" showcased the world premiere at Leicester Square on May 12th. After a four year deprivation of the global TV smash-hit chartering the life and loves of the promiscuous New York singletons, the flocks of London fanatics were by no means disappointed when style goddess SJP made her jaw dropping appearance in this spectacular show stopping headpiece, created a mere few days prior to this prestigious event by talented Philip Treacey.
In keeping with all the glitz and glamour of the series, the four primary starlets apparel were as eagerly awaited as any fragment of plotline, which continues the character's lives four years down the line. First of the Hollywood darlings to grace London's Leicester Square was star of the series Sarah Jessica Parker, who plays main character Carrie Bradshaw, wearing a green tulle dress created by none other than British design God, Alexander McQueen combined with the hat that everyone's talking about! Uber sultry temptress, Kim Cattrall, who plays professional man eater, Samantha Jones, was next to dazzle the red carpet wearing a red Vivienne Westwood off the shoulder stunner that is just to die for, like we'd expect anything less from the British Dame of design. Actress behind feisty lawyer Miranda Hobbs, Cynthia Nixon sported a fabulous pleated, floor length Calvin Klein dress slashed to the thighs featuring a plunging neckline. And last but not in the slightest bit least to rock the red carpet was Kristin Davis, wearing a charming cherry-red vintage sleeveless dress. For those of us bursting at the seams with excitement to find out the fate of Carrie and Mr. Big, who was nowhere to be seen at the premiere, the must see film of 2008 is on general release in the UK from May 28, so come on girls, start preparing those cocktails and hurry to Enter Boutique for your perfect show stopping outfit... we don't want to offend our style icons by wearing just any old thing now, do we?
