The party season has arrived. Dresses in slinky black, lemon gold and sparkly silver are adorning the window displays at all the major shopping destinations. But let’s not forget about the fabulously comfortable casual wear that sees us through every day life and gets us from A to B...

Women’s casual wear for spring/summer 2007 is stylishly understated. Three words come to mind when viewing the Miss Sixty collection for next year; sexy, funky, cool. Tops have an adventurous cut-out detail creating a rock-chick image and trendy accessories in the form of metallic belts and black scarves, ensures the look is elegantly chic but fashionably informal.

Huge sunglasses and coloured hats are a fantastic look for spring. Teamed with jeans in bright shades of daisy yellow, pinky red and of course, classic black, creates a wholesome and youthful look. Blue denim is a shade lighter than the torrent of indigo coloured denim that has been around for a while and blends well with the brighter shades of jade green and rosy pink for summer. The skinny style jean, remaining at the forefront as a firm favourite, looks great with the tight-fitting tops and three-quarter length sleeve jackets in tailored denim and retro leather.

Casual wear designs for spring are cleverly ordinary but with a creative twist. By adding a mass of jewellery to enhance the look, the image becomes casually chic worn with a youthful grace; very street, hugely sexy, yet classic and comfortable.

Next season’s Energie casual wear for men, takes interesting leaps and bounds infused with funky new directions and adventurous designs at every turn. Denim is a darker wash than the women’s, worn loosely like the Lee Cooper styles, coming in colours of navy blue and charcoal black. Tailored jackets, ties and hats are to be worn with these jeans, creating a relaxed look mixed with a classic businessman style air. Dove grey, aligned with a touch of black, appear to be the more favourable shades.

Waistcoats, designed in fabrics that are pale, washed out and well worn, will play a central part also. Teamed with patterned t-shirts, much like the unusual motifs that are currently being designed by Zularni, show the country & western image will be huge for men this season. Tinged with a rock n’ roll reminiscence, the country & western look appears stunningly contemporary.

Menswear is awash with vivid colours checked with white and the tops are complemented by green and red belts. Short sleeved, narrowly cut, slim collar shirts are designed to be worn with knee-length patterned shorts and caps can be added here for a more youthful, everyday look.

Casual wear for most is about individual style, comfort and a confident attitude. Whatever your look, feel at ease in what you wear and the spring sunshine will feel like a welcome glow, ensuring you look and feel good all season.
