Sorry Michael. Bit on edge today, (one of my friends having a serious operation and quite worried.) I'm sure I did take you up the wrong way and I apologise. I do appriciate that you are genuinely offering assistance and only mean well.

Sorry Sinead NOT intended like that AT ALL, ask Jenny Holloway about me, I'm a 'good guy' just trying to help. I am the forth generation tailor in my family and have been in the clothing and fashion industry my entire life. I am aware that up to the 90s there was a lot of tailoring production in Ireland and that most have closed or moved production overseas, where there was clothing production there ARE skilled workers, mainly retired. It's for this reason that I stress to ALL designers about longterm searches for these key people, not just you and not just in Ireland. 99% of all businesses that I talk to about possible support from 'Government' Enterprise Programmes have NO idea what I am talking about, well done you for knowing and being in contact with your local programme.
Really sorry if I upset you, IT WAS NOT INTENDED.

Ok, maybe it wasn't intended that way but that was just patronising and I found the implication that I'm too dumb to know about county enterprise boards (and I am working with them ) or that I am not trying hard enough to find people to take on work highly offensive.

Hi Sinead Yes, it is difficult finding these people but who said anything about EASY?? I'm sure that nothing that you have done so far in your business has been easy. If you and the others in your situation start to see this search for these key people as your most important, long term research project, once you find them THEY can make your life much easier. You have a huge advantage over many of your competitors, you make your own orders and live with the reality of production problems. Just a couple of key tailors and your new production capabilty will allow you the freedom of selling as many as you can. Can you upgrade the machines that you already have to perhaps a newer 'generation' of machine, should speed up some production processes for you. What about the 'government' Enterprise Support Programmes in Ireland? There may be some funding for you for this upgrade, please check it out. Please keep searching, these tailors/seamstresses ARE out there, throughout the UK and Ireland.

Dear Sinead,
We certainly agree that £60 for trousers is too high and do not understand the _object_ion to french seams and tailoring. I would like to think we could be of some help to you and I will be sending you a private e-mail to discuss your needs, later today.
Please don't hesitate to contact me. 01650 521596.
