Most quality fabric agents will send out swatches but you need to be a bit specific on your request and also you have to remember that it costs the agent to send out swatches too. Therefore unless the agents think you are a genuine buyer they will not oblige.

Have you tried an honesty approach and explained what you are doing...if you like you can work with us on this exercise and we will set up a referencing gallery of fabric swatches so you can therefore promote the agency for FREE! This way each agent may send you a swatch of fabric and feelers.

Hi there- i am currently in my 3rd year of study at the University of Lincoln- as i am hoping to become a fabric and trims buyer after i finish my degree i'm producing a fabric source file and i want to keep it as up-to-date and fresh as possible - i was wondering if anyone knew of any fabric suppliers/shops that send samples away.
I just want to bump it up really- and i'm sure there are many places i haven't been in contact with yet.
So if anyone knows where i could get some samples from i'd be grateful
