Fashion Journalism is a very competitive niche and is all about contacts. If your aim is to work on _title_s such as Elle, Red, Marie Claire, Vogue, then you really need to get on as staff and work your way up. What about the contacts you made at Red and Harpers? If you want to go the freelance route you need to introduce yourself to editors, along with some ideas. They get approached all the time - so research and find out if they use freelancers before you get in touch.

I am currently a Sub-Editor at a local newspaper and have been for the past 5 months. Its my first job since completing my journalism degree. However, I really really want to get into Fashion Journalism and have no idea how to go about it. Fashion and writing are my two greatest passions and are the only two things I can imagine myself doing! I have some fashion experience that I acquired during my magazine placements at Red and Harpers & Queen. I also did a features placement at Eve magazine. Can anyone give me any advice on this? or even a job! I am looking for a full time, central london-_base_d role.
