I’m a post graduate from National Institute of Fashion Technology, Mumbai with specialization in Knitwear Designing & Technology with 3 years of collective industry experience.

I had been working as a designer in an export house for a year which gave me an exposure to international market, understanding buyers, their specifications & demands, international trends, meeting deadlines etc.

I’m also associated with KVIC which is a national body working for the development of Khadi and other village industries all over India. Being among the empanelled designers of KVIC taught me how to constantly remain creative, communicating and working with people at all levels, source different and new materials all the time.

For the past 6 months I’m working with Wigan & Leigh College, Lucknow in the capacity of Fashion Trainer. After 2 months of joining Wigan I’d been promoted to acting HOD-Fashion & Design Deptt. Working as an HOD has given me the experience of leading a team, how to plan ahead, getting in-depth knowledge of my subjects viz., Design Studies, Fashion Forecast & Fashion Merchandising. As a fashion trainer, I need to remain in constant touch with the industry people in order to deliver the practicalities related to the chosen work area of the students. This profile has given me the opportunity to remain close to theoretical aspects of my subjects.

Along with this I’m also doing freelancing for Midas Exports (India) & Essential East (Canada). This helps me to remain in constant touch of my work area along with the academics.

Working for more than one organization at a time have made it necessary for me to learn very quickly how to prioritize tasks, and have instilled in me the need to remain flexible. I have had to be highly organized in order to meet tight deadlines both at all the levels.

I feel that I would be able to offer the position advertised a great deal, as along with my 36 months of working experience, I speak and write fluently in English and Hindi and currently learning French.
