I know of one case study that may be of interest, a company called Baby Ceylon (shop in Portobello Green and also website) won a court battle with House of Fraser after HOF blatantly copied their designs. If you google baby Ceylon and scroll down you will see the article which is on ACID'c (Anti Copying in Design) website

I'm a fashion student - currently writing my dissertation on copyright and design rights in the fashion industry. I'm desperate to gather research about this - particularly the way they affect designers, but haven't had much response to any of my surveys (even from the companies i have done work experience at!)
