The Workshop is a CMT factory that was created in 2007 to fill the industry need for a quality based, small production facility for national designers and retailers. The unit consists of some of the most experienced machinists and pattern cutters in the UK who operate on a wide cross section of machinery. Although we have a broad range of existing clientele including Jaeger, Asos.com and 80 other designers our staff is always open to working with new talent.
The Workshop’s services consist of patternmaking, toiling, first fit sampling and small production while also offering a grading service through GradeRite. All pattern, toile and sample services are charged on a £18 plus VAT on an hourly basis for FashionCapital members and £22.50 plus VAT on an hourly basis for non members. These prices are effective as of 30th December 2011. All new clients must first meet with our factory manager to discuss their production needs. The initial hour long consultation fee is waived for all annual FashionCapital members however is £30 plus vat for non-members. All consultations must be booked in advance by reaching Esther at 0208 800 9979 or esther@fashion-enter.com Please note as of 1st February 2012 any credit card transactions carry a 2% surcharge. There must also be cleared funds in our account before the release of any goods and services. Alongside our production facility the Workshop also houses an educational entity where courses such Stitch in Time program and Cad/Cam run on an consistant basis. Designer Requirements for Consultation If you wish to arrange a consultation regarding costing you will be required to provide the following:
Courses at the Workshop Cad/Cam is a one week intensive course introducing students to the Veti-Graph interactive solution to pattern construction, manipulation, grading and marker making. The Workshop is equipped with a training suite complete with 10 computers, a digitizer and plotter.
This course is run by industry professionals who can provide students with and insider view to the fashion business. Due to the overwhelming success of the Workshop Fashion Enter and fashioncapital.co.uk are now delighted to confirm that a new sampling unit will be opening at Barking. There is already a dedicated team comprising of a pattern maker and machinists who are of excellent standards. The team has a combined industry working experience that spans 35 years. The team is managed by Syreeta McQueen and Syreeta is responsible for coordinating new designers work and new business start ups requirements.
This marks a new era for members’ services whereby Syreeta is the new contact point for sampling and small run production. Please contact Syreeta on xxx and the number for Barlking is xxxx
There is also dedicated paperwork that must be used when working with Workshop 2 at Barking. This will be thoroughly discussed with clients by Syreeta and includes the Client Sheet, Fitting logs, Dockets and a full size chart.
