From the Classroom to the Catwalk

Students

Four hairdressing students were excited to have the opportunity of applying the skills learnt in the classroom straight to the catwalk at a recent Fashion Show held at John Lewis's Kingston store.

The students, who are studying for an NVQ Level 3 in Hairdressing, spent the morning preparing the models for their catwalk appearances throughout the afternoon.

The four students, Hazal Demeni, Zyna Al-Ani, Lisa Lee and Yvonne Celosa, eagerly volunteered to participate in order to gain behind-the-scenes experience of a fashion show. They agreed that they'd had a "thoroughly enjoyable day" saying "it was really exciting to work behind the scenes of a real fashion show!"

Hairdressing lecturer Jenny Wiltshire says: "This was a wonderful experience for the students. They all carried out the work required like true professionals. They are a credit to the College in the way they conducted themselves."
