Fashion Enter visited the highly talents Year 4 primary school students this morning for a seminar on the fashion industry and the start of the Design Cycle.

Starting the morning with a presentation on "What is Fashion?" a talk frequently used in our "Understanding the Fashion Industry" seminars, the students were posed the questions, "What does fashion mean to you?" with some excellent responses feeding back from the young students hitting the key style element.

Jenny Holloway then brought to the attention of the pupils of various sources of inspiration to utilise to seek a theme/ethos seen throughout the company's collections, i.e. magazines, books, buildings, internet etc.

Students were then taken through key transferable business tool including SWOT analysis and the 4 P's of Marketing:

Price
Product
Place
Promotion

To highlight the importance of these basic tools, Director; Jenny Holloway and Education Manager; Emily Tullett displayed a series of good and bad sellers previously sold in Enter Boutique's Croydon branch providing reasons behind the rate of sales behind each garment.

The bright students were then grouped into teams of 4 to create their own brand names and "company's" whilst focusing on these 4 P's, and began to put together a mood board comprising of key colour palettes and designs to present to Fashion Enter and the rest of the class on their ideas.

We thoroughly look forward to seeing the final results when we revisit for the students presentation on the 4th March.
