Making a Haircut easier...
So we are now officially almost a month into the new decade and a new season approaches.

Time for a new wardrobe and a new look. The prospect of a new hairstyle to accent your new look can be a bit daunting. I have got into a habit of turning up to the hairdressers with a vague idea of newness and coming out looking nothing like I expected and nothing like I did an hour before.

This is my way of doing the 'hair' thing and it has had a few disastrous results - mullet any one?

I have discovered a new, and much needed, way to decide on a new hairstyle or colour.

www.Instlye.com have got a truly fabulous Hollywood make over program on their website that enables you to upload a photograph of your self and try on new hair styles, colours and make up looks as well. You can print or email the results as either a fun time waster or as an idea for your hairdresser. All the styles are from celebrities so if you've seen a hot style on the red carpet, chances are you'll find it here!

You can even try out the Twilight stars' looks - yes, red eyes and all.

On a serious note, this is the best program of its sort that I have seen so far. Many of these sorts of applications allow you to plonk a hairstyle hap-hazard on your blurry photograph and change the width and height of the hair style jerkily. This allows you to tweak the points of the hair style around your face and adjust the style to your face shape, pulling the fringe a little lower (we dont all have Rhiannas forehead!) and pulling the layers closer or further away from your cheeks. Below is an example of how you can add make up, and change eye colour as well as getting a new trim.
