Beauty4Media So Bronze Event!
Last night I was lucky enough to attend my 2nd beauty4media event....
 
The last one hosted in the Jewel bar Piccadilly was an indisputable success, the featured products were Elemis and there were heavenly hand and arm massages on offer. Click here to view last events article.

This time the products were fantastic self tanning products called So Bronze. This comes from the brand Hempz. They are a reknowned brand using natural ingredients including hemp seed. The Hemp seed is a very eco-friendly but slightly controversial plant used to make things such as paper, rope,clothing and even bio-desel fuel! The reason for the controversy is that hemp is from the plant species ‘cannabis sativa'. Industrial hemp has no illegal used though and contains almost no THC - the active ingreidient in marijuana. So although it sounds very naughty... its not. *logo*

After a trek from Notting Hill Gate station I arrived at 171 Portobello road - the Portobello star. A gorgeous, very sleek, intimate bar. The place was jam packed with PRs and other media figures.

I arrived fashionably late - just in time to catch the last round of cocktails and speeches. The speeches were the usual thank you's to people that were probably promised a mention and the prize draw which consists of putting your business card in a big pot and having one picked at random and then shouting over the babble the winners name.

Upstairs was the 'fake tan room' as we dubbed it. A lovely lady named Lisa Rushforth with a perma-tan greeted us and sprayed our arms with a fine, coconut smelling mist. I was expecting this fake tan to be sticky and a little smelly but it was smooth to go on and I was told that the tan would develop over the next 2-4 hours.

We went back into the throng to continue meeting and networking with the people gathered.

There is such a friendly atmosphere at all the beauty4media events that are un-paralleled in the snooty fashion world. It is amazing to be chatting to some one and realize that this is someone you've been exchanging emails with for weeks. Putting a name to a face makes these events all worth while.

As do the amazing goodie bags! Emptying out my goodie bag I couldn't help but shriek girlishly. The So Bronze products were all in there! As were what felt like hundreds of sachets of hemp goodies.

All the technical details were explained to me. Although technical details baffle me I did learn that the Hempz products aren't illicit and the So Bronze products are really good!

I think overall this was a brilliant night. The atmostphere was so friendly and the bar well stocked! The products were worth a feature!
