Born and raised near Manchester, Vanessa Harrington takes inspiration for her bespoke designs from her extensive travel diary, film noir, vintage fabrics and antique markets. She graduated from Loughborough University with a BA in Multi-Media Textile Design in 2005.

As part of her degree Vanessa worked in London as a designer for Tom Cody Design studio, Designers Guild and on a freelance basis selling her work to the likes of Louis Vuitton and Tommy Hilfiger.

Since finishing her degree Vanessa has assisted fashion stylist Mark Heyes and fashion designer Gareth Pugh as well as working full time for Sylvie Martel Textile design studio and Oasis Women’s Fashion Stores.

The experience she has gained in the fields of print design, visual merchandising,styling and trend forecasting has lead her to set up her own Textile Design Company, ‘Vanessa Harrington’

‘Vanessa Harrington’ fuses Vanessa’s fashion insight and expertise with her unique design flair to create beautiful jewllery and accessories, photography and prints.

Update:

Vanessa is currently attending the Workshop for a week to improve her pattern construction and manipulation skills. She also is eager to attend the Veti-Graph Cad/Cam program next month.
