Graduate Fashion Week
Graduate Fashion Week is the UK’s only showcase held in June of each year to exhibit the work of BA Graduate fashion design talent in the UK. It was launched in 1991 and each year FashionCapital supports the event by holding a stand within the exhibition area. If you are exhibition at GFW or visiting please always come along and see us at our stand. FashionCapital reviews the catwalk shows and holds interviews with many of the FE and HE institutions. Reduced priced educational memberships are available to allow full access to FashionCapital site for all accredited UK schools, colleges, FE and HE institutions.

FashionCapital is at Graduate Fashion Week, sponsored by George, this week from the 5th – 8th June at stand B136. If you are coming to view the stunning range of graduates collections from the 42 universities and colleges that have surpassed the caliber of previous years and are interested in the array of services and opportunities FashionCapital is offering please visit us at our stand.

FashionCapital representatives will be available to talk to regarding membership benefits whilst we are offering discounted rates to graduates and universities for the educational membership package by providing a code that can be entered when buying an annual subscription online as well as a series of competitions. You could win some truly fantastic prizes that will provide the perfect kick start for anyone looking to embark on a successful career in the industry.

The competitions that are currently on offer via the stand include opportunities to win 10 free e-commerce boutiques via fcboutique.co.uk and 50 at 50% off. FCBoutique.co.uk’s new concept of providing the designer with total control of managing their own area of the site, acting as a concession in retail terms, ensures designers will receive 100% of the sales as no commission is taken by FashionCapital. All you need to do to enter the competition is come along to our stand and complete a form providing your contact details and you might be one of the lucky 60 applicants selected to utilize tis fantastic opportunity.

FashionCapital also works closely with leading discount high end online retailer; Brand Alley which is also running another competition that is being promoted at the FashionCapital stand. The Little Black Dress competition offers the opportunity for applicants to design a little black dress for Brand Alley’s target audience, and if selected will be sold online via the globally renowned store. Furthermore, this competition provides extensive press opportunities as seen in previous competitions with Brand Alley of this nature having received double page spreads in national broadsheets such as The Times, Metro and more.

Graduate Fashion Week doesn’t only provide a unique opportunity for graduates to showcase their final collections and make key industry networking contacts, the fantastic event also attracts school leavers deciding on which route is best for them post-secondary education. FashionCapital are therefore also available to talk to regarding the first Fashion & Textiles Apprenticeship program currently offered in London for individuals aged 16-24 who have a minimum of 5 A—C GCSE grades and have not completed a Level 4 qualification of higher. We will be collecting CV’s at the show to distribute to the range of employers seeking to work with an apprentice for the 18 month duration.

Lastly, FashionCapital has a team of talented and experienced journalists and photographers who will be providing you with the latest news from Graduate Fashion Week and will be covering every show for you if you are unable to attend one of the highlights of the year in the fashion calendar.
