The Arts Institute at Bournemouth, established in 1885 is one of only twelve specialist education institutions in the UK devoted solely to the study of the arts. Such providers are widely recognised as offering the best education in art and design.

The Institute enjoys a strong reputation both nationally and internationally, with all 2500 students based on one campus, which is a creative community where both staff and students share a commitment to the disciplines of arts, design and media.

 
The Arts Institute at Bournemouth offers a range of further and higher education courses, including National & Foundation Diplomas, Foundation & BA (Hons) Degrees and Postgraduate courses. Subject areas include photography, costume, fashion, fine art, graphic design, animation, illustration, film production, arts and event management and visual communication.

 
The facilities offered by the Institute are second to none and include a fully equipped library, an arts gallery and the Museum of Design in Plastics which provides a dynamic study and research resource for students, holding more than 8,000 artefacts.


The Institute is an accredited Skillset Screen & Media Academy which is a recognised Centre of Excellence in film training and education and more recently, it was granted Taught Degree Awarding Powers by the Privy Council which will allow the Institute to apply for University College title.

The Enterprise Pavillion



Within a stone's throw of the Arts Institute at Bournemouth, the Enterprise Pavilion (eP) is home to a highly creative business environment and an effervescent stream of connectivity between people, ideas, resources and new business in the South West.


It was commissioned in 2003 in a joint initiative between the South West Regional Development Agency and the Arts Institute at Bournemouth to develop, attract and retain new creative businesses in the South West.


Professionalism, innovation and diversity are all part of the culture at the Enterprise Pavilion. With first class facilities, striking architectural features and a range of accredited companies based in it, the eP is developing a reputation as one of the country's leading centers of excellence for design outside London.


Accommodated within the eP are fully equipped office spaces and technical suites, which are available for hire to external companies, which include an assortment of leading practitioners in their respective fields; from fashion and graphic designers to photographers and digital media experts.


The eP is a unique, independent initiative and part of a bigger national drive to safeguard the future for British creative entrepreneurs. It is where inspired people, fresh ideas, specialist expertise and state-of-the-art resources forge successful businesses and collaborations.
