COLA visits Clothes Show London
On Friday 29th May FashionCapital was able to introduce the world's largest fashion and beauty event, the Clothes Show London, to year 9 students at City of Islington Academy.

The visit to the Clothes Show follows the highly successful seminars FashionCapital has been conducting with the pupils providing a unique insight into the industry.

The students arrived at Excels London filled with excitement. First stop was the Experts Studio to see Jenny Holloway giving a talk on the design process and how to get into the fashion industry.

They were then taken to the FashionCapital boutique where 20 stands showcased a selection of new and emerging fashion designers. The students then had to put into practice what they had previously been taught; the imperative 4 P's of marketing which can be applied not only to fashion but throughout numerous alternative industries:

Price
Product
Place
Promotion

They looked at each stand in detail analysing price, product, place and promotion and once they had decided on which was their favourite stand in terms of the 4 P's the students regrouped and reported back on their findings.

Overall the visit gave the year 9 students at COLA a unique insight into another aspect of the fashion industry and was able to see the reality of designers in action.
