Trend Alert: Cape Town

No more is it a connotation of superheroes uniform but now it is a fashion outerwear statement. As fashion trendsetter Tania Braukamper states, “Capes are a major 2010 fashion trend”. It has past through the runway through the likes of Marc Jacob, Alexander McQueen, and Yves Saint Laurent to name a few and trickled down to our high streets ready for the fall.

 The cape style exudes a level of sophistication and secrecy to the wearer by its fluid shaping restricting people from seeing the wearer’s form. It is affluent; it is classy yet abstract in form of a jacket. The cape has been fashioning since the medieval times but its return in 2009 is not without a modern twist. Capes will be seen in all lengths, colours,

fabrics and prints; its really a time for mix and matching. This trend will stay till the 2010, so why not be a ‘fashionista’ and stay ahead of the game.
