Judging by the swarm of girls in Basques at Dita Von Teese's appearance at Movida last week, it's clear that the Burlesque look is essential for a fashionable night out. No longer is it seen as gothic or trashy, but an individual style that allows women to embrace their feminine and sexy side. With this is mind, I too was donned in a dress too risky for conventional nightclubs, but appropriate for the evening's proceedings.  What can only be described as Grace Kelly meets Moulin Rouge, girls of all shapes and sizes are teaming lacy corsets with frilly French knickers, cute silky camisoles with skirts and let's not even get started on the rendition of stockings and suspenders. In fact let's, as every Burlesque lover knows that flashing the flesh in this fetish wear is key for the glamorous style. Pair all of this with a bright feather boa and you really have the image nailed.  Perfecting the Burlesque hair is also an art in itself, as you need to re-create the 1940's groomed look with your own twist. Standing their with my blonde hair - a prisoner to GHD's , I would probably need some help with this one, but the girls in the club were faultless with their hairstyles, and even had the fascinators to complete their outfits.  This beautiful and original look is screaming confidence to me, as women are beginning to flaunt their bodies and show off their curves. Instead of hiding away like shrinking violets these outfits are designed for women to be prominent in society. Even if, like me, you prefer candy colour dresses and the Burlesque is too brave for you by any standards, I am sure you will agree that these girls are true showstoppers.
