Hair we go...!!!
Teasing us with anticipation, Blue Peter presenter Joel Defries presented his latest designed Union Jack t-shirt before the pros came on, (Sorry Joel) for the Blow Presents show. First up is an Eiffel Tower head piece from Charlie Le Mindu. Sparkling and sensational with the model in a relaxed nude spandex jumpsuit the outfit creates a dramatic yet simple effect. Eccentric isn't the word for what followed next. Big platforms, big attitude and well, quite frankly, Big Foot as the all-hair outfits took centre stage. From bags to sunglasses the models were dressed head to toe in hair. This takes good roots to the next level, as this was the ‘highlight' of the runway with chestnut and sandy beige all-in-ones. Next up - risqué Gemma Slack, and her collection which echoed the raunchy gothic chic. Slashed leather dresses were met by metal studded bodices which embraced the underworld tone of the show. Slack likes to portray the modern futuristic woman, and boy did she do that with giant robotic skirts and dark velvet waistcoats that could crush the patriarchal world in a heartbeat. Keeping it dark and tragic, Iris Van Helpen's range then graced the catwalk. This time more feminine with black and silver bandeau dresses and a sequinned charcoal grey halter dress. The range introduced more golds and beiges with layers of leather and tulip style hems. And as the layers got bigger, we were sure of one thing - big is beautiful.
