Nico Kubisch is the double-prize winning designer of contemporary tailored menswear. He celebrated his New York Fashion Week debut with the Best Menswear Award and the Editorial Award this summer. ![]() His style borrows from the 1920’s High Society gent and injects a modern flavour from the streets. At first look, Nico’s collection is that of a gentlemen’s tailor in Savile Row yet on closer inspection could be fresh off the rails of Dover Street Market. Pieces such as a constructed double breasted hooded blazer (cut from Japanese jersey), a wing collared t-shirt (complete with formal dress pleated bib front), to a pair of pleated formal trousers (finished with elasticated hem). The wearer would not be out of place in the offices of a media agency through to one of London’s hippest bars. Nico’s collection is truly diverse! Nico has launched his high end menswear collection in 2007. Transforming traditional formal tailoring into luxurious casualwear with its high standard of british craftsmanship and some of the finest cloths, Nico Kubisch is now one of Britain’s up and coming cutting edge designers. Nico Kubisch started his career in fashion as design assistant for one of the most successful brands within the Escada Group before training at french fashion college Esmod where he graduated with an award winning menswear collection. Soon, after attempting the opening of his store in Berlin with the launch of his first collection in 2002, Nico was offered a position at Alexander McQueen where he worked under the influence of one of the masters of razor sharp tailoring and cutting edge. Nico’s appreciation for traditional tailoring brought him to work as Joe Casely-Hayfords design assistant for traditional Savile Row tailors Gieves&Hawkes, where he remains as Design Consultant.
