 Embellished Truth is a new accessories label which focuses on environmental sensibilities. Designed by Bharati Manchanda, it creates trans-seasonal handbag collections for the luxury fashion market. Bharati studied BA (Hons) Fashion Design at Southampton Solent University, where she realised her passion for beautiful fabrics and detailing. After graduating, she worked as a designer and stylist in London. And eventually began to develop her creative style by selling one-off customised pieces at Portobello and Spitalfields markets. After some time she decided to branch out into the accessories market and in particular became interested in ethical design. Whilst researching and sourcing fabrics, she became aware of the possibility of making a positive contribution to the environment.  Embellished Truth was launched in September 2007, blending fashion with a conscience and sophisticated design. Each handbag is made using the finest eco-friendly leather which has been vegetable tanned in Europe. The tanning process is free from chrome and other heavy metals and uses vegetable substances which are harvested in a sustainable way. The end result is beautifully soft, breathable and biodegradable leather.  The Embellished Truth style is confident and feminine, with handbags which are bold yet practical. The collection includes large everyday handbags and small evening clutches in an array of colours from muted black and browns to aubergine and flame red.  Inspired by Indian culture, prints and embellishments, each piece is individually created with care in London and embossed by hand with an original paisley design.
