Another jam packed day of catwalk shows today's highlight was definitely the fashion crowd's favourite Henrik Vibskov.

David Anderson

The first of the shows kicked off with menswear designer David Andersen. We initially got our glimpse of the designer during the Kopenhagen Fur show, where his opulent menswear designs blew us away. This collection was similar, with the same clean cut tailoring and luxurious design.

The theatrical show seemed to be centred around Victorian formal wear, a hunting party and the circus with shiny top hats, smooth tailoring, flashes of black glossy fur and ring leader style red jackets that were the only colour in the show.  Models were sent down the run way coolly clasping canes and riding crops to keep the theme unmistakeable.

Here it seems normal to mix women's and menswear on the catwalk. This collection highlighted androgyny a little as the women were all dressed similarly to the men in riding boots, waist coats and crisp white shirts. And of course the lavish fox furs draped nonchalantly across their shoulders

Also featured were gold speckled gloves and trimmings.

Anderson originates from Scotland and this explains the men's kilt like skirts, there were more male models in skirts than female! He has worked in the past with the Royal Danish theatre and this is obvious in the dramatic, themed collection.

The theme running through was consistent and this was an incredibly enjoyable show.

Margit Brandt

Margit Brandt started in 1966 and is recognised for reinventing designs from the 60's to the 80's. This collection has echoes of many different eras, from the 70's hair to the 50's cut dresses.

This collection starts out with gothic lace garments that are so ridiculously cool, trend-right and wearable.
The colour palette shifts in to greys and blues as the collection continues with optical print shirts and tailored city shorts. There's a feeling of the working woman in this collection with cigarette pants and figure embracing dresses. The collection starts to become a little in-consistent. There are so many fabulous designs but its starting to become a bit of a mish mash and there is no rational progression of the show and theme.

Eventually after a few nice pieces in a spectrum of neutral colours we reach the ‘eveningwear'. This included flowing dropped waist maxi dresses and simpler, looser designs. There were flashes of bling and glitter and suddently wet look, dominatrix dresses graced the catwalk.

Over all I really didn't like this collection, it seemed like such a muddle of different styles and eras and it was just too much to take in. The last draped dresses in the leather just made it appear that the designer had given up on the crisp sharp lines and decided to wrap girls in bin liner like material. The last dress on the catwalk was an open fronted maxi dress and included a random, massive fluffy hair piece which was the last nail in the coffin. There were some glimpses of genius but these were hidden far too well for my liking.

Henrik Vibskov

Henrik is a very well known Danish designer and his designs are coveted among Danish fashionistas and after seeing this show it's so easy to see why.

Before the collection starts you know it's going to be a little different, there is an excitement in the air as the ‘fashion pack' crowd themselves into the venue.

The catwalk is dotted with odd alien like constructions, creating an almost wooded effect and therefore twisting the usual straight path of the models. The only word that describes this collection perfectly is... whacky.

The collection has a range of crazy modernised traditional clothing, with kilts, lederhosen like shorts and flashes of tartan and checks. The models all have weird little hats perched precariously on their heads and strange Lady Gaga esque glasses with geometric shapes over their eyes.  Amongst the random prints and mustard suits there are knits, men in t-shirt dresses and artfully draped material.

There is a mix of urban ready to wear garments, styled well with brown leather belts holding closed casual winter coats contrasting with a mustard coloured suit and high necked dresses.

If you were to describe the collection it sounds like a car crash of ideas but some how... it works. The styling is what keeps this collection consistent and flowing, the glasses and the silly hats just help to string the whole collection together a little more coherently.

Overall this show was something a bit different and so well done. The mixture of street wear, random metal trees and fantastical prints made for a very enjoyable show. Look out for this guy, one day he'll take the UK by storm!

Day 3 of Copenhagen Fashion week was a tough one, getting kicked out of taxis in the middle of no where, running all over the beautiful city to show after show and trying to squeeze in some non-sushi based meals. The atmosphere is great and so much more relaxed than London. It’s great being out here and we, the FashionCapital team, are enjoying it as much as we can, not missing an opportunity to absorb and observe the rich culture and new designers.
