Another big show of the season is Aquascutum.

Personally I am very proud to own a vintage Aquascutum coat, a relative died sadly in the 90’s and its been in my mothers wardrobe untouched ever since! So this felt like my kind of show!

This was another ‘grown up’ show. No longer out to shock or flatter only androgynous bodies Aquascutum emphasized shoulders, waists and hips. Finally its good to be a womanly shape!

The show started out simply with black and white emsembles including trench coats that touched the floor and thigh length tunics. Floor brushing skirts and tight belted jackets graced the catwalks as well as a new favourite amongst designers – the Cape! Like a poncho, but more chic and less rain-at-disneyland.· There were also a few pairs of elbow length, fingerless gloves that managed to pull of a classy look instead of bringing the collection down to a ‘tramp’ level.

The flat shoes worn emphasized the length of the dresses and the height of the fragile beautys modeling them. The detail was subtle and unique with piping and soft prints as well was emphasized hemming on lapels and sleeves. ·Belts were worn tied around the waist rather than fastened which was a nice casual touch giving more of a country weekend feel to the collection that we have seen in so many other collections this season.

The colours moved into beige and khaki green with the same floor skimming styles and a few gem dresses. ·This morphed into beautiful gold shimmering evening dressed with gold metallic patterns and rouched tops, keeping the floor length tube skirts simple and gorgeous.

This was a fabulous collection – this offshoot of Jaeger is bound to be making more of a name for its self amongst fashionistas of the age as well as being an old favourite for outerwear, such as the queen for years to come.
