One Direction – Their style

In anticipation of One Direction releasing their debut album we thought we would give you a breakdown of the boys looks. Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan and Loius Tom Lison hit our screens on last years X-factor 2010, having auditioned solo but then put together as a group by Simon Cowell. They were an instant hit with teen viewers - boys wanting to be them and girls wanting to get with them. You couldn’t be within ten feet of a teenager without them being the topic of conversation.

Since then the boys have been on The X-factor they have been on its UK tour, advertising Abercrombie and Fitch and Nintendo DS while working on their album.

Now to their look -

As a group One Direction have a very distinct style – On The x-factor they mixed a bit of Preppy America with Urban London and soft tailoring. Their style was an instant hit with both teens and the high street.

Soft and loose cowl necked jersey is something most prominent in their wardrobe. By using neutral earthy tones, this gives the boys a very natural vibe to their wardrobe. This kind of top is giving the younger generation a chance to play with masculinity and androgyny.

When it comes to dressing for an event, One Direction mix up smart with little casual: not confusing it with Smart Casual. Wearing a shirt and tie but accompanied by some worn in jeans or a hoodie under a smart fitted jacket keeps the boys dressing for their age but gives a fresh take on an evening look.

Over all One Direction are a well dressed group. They aren’t afraid of playing with colour, shape or style. They are definitely Ones To Watch!
