Whether you’re a student just starting out in the British clothing industry or a small business looking for trainees, the CAPITB trust is an invaluable resource. Established in 1990, the CAPITB Trust is an independent training charity for the British Clothing and Apparel industries which was founded to help fund training for those wanting to enter the British clothing industry, or for those who simply want to improve their knowledge and skills. It is an invaluable tool for students seeking an employer and small business owners alike; they can help with funding for training the next generation of skilled makers of clothes, and can also fill the void between universities and government funded training schemes. They help individuals and small businesses with the real cost of training. For students and trainees, you can find yourself an employer who will train you, and if they or you need financial assistance the CAPITB Trust will see how they can help. For small businesses, you can find a trainee and they will assist in meeting your early training costs of an approved programme. Over recent years the Trust has sponsored events which were designed to stimulate the awareness, teaching and application of skills within the industry and most recently, the Trust have sponsored the Golden Shears Competition for the Merchant Taylors Company. |
