Dear Fran
I've just seen your advert and I'm really keen to get involved. I'm currently a fashion/beauty writer for a luxury publishing company, but I'm looking to specialise in bridal fashion and would love to get involved backstage at the National Wedding Show. I am working full time, but I am prepared to take the Thursday and Friday off work so that I'm available to help out from the 22nd to the 25th February.
As Deputy and Assistant Editor on two magazines, I certainly know how to manage my time and I am always bursting with new ideas to tirelessly arrange and write fashion, beauty and lifestyle features. Being solely responsible for organising the photo shoots for all of the group’s magazines, Orient-Express Magazine in particular, I am experienced booking and working with photographers, models, makeup artists and their agencies as well as working as our stylist’s assistant on the day.
My proactive personality and ability to always get involved has meant that the more extraordinary things tend to happen to me: I’ve pet-sat an exotic frog overnight for a shoot; I starred in a photo shoot for Island Visitor magazine (and finally made it onto the front cover); I’ve stayed in the office until the early hours making mood boards for pitches; and then there was the lovely Willie—the mischievous Pug that I was tasked with minding during a shoot in Oxford.
My initial love of publishing, and my shameless passion for fashion, arises from the year-long work experience that I completed in the fashion departments of various women's magazines, including New Woman, Tatler and In Style. The time that I spent working on these publications was amazing fun, yet hard work, and gave me the drive to pursue a career in publishing and I’ve long harboured a desire to focus my time working in fashion, bridal in particular.
I have copied my CV for your perusal below.
I will look forward to hearing from you.
Yours sincerely
Sinead Berry
