Hi Jennifer, Hope your well. This is not an advert, more a suggestion. Many fashion capital designers now have me consult with them and buy my buyer database/info pack which helps them with the right way to approach UK buyers, price their collection, present it etc etc.
Why don't Fashion capital do like the Danish Embassy has done for their overseas designers wanting to break into the UK market whereby they have a done a deal with me to buy multiple copies of my database/info pack at a discount and in turn market it to their designers. I,m working with many Embassy's at the moment but I feel someone needs to help our homegrown talent!

I can wholeheartedly recommend Renato (that's Renatogrant below). I can't tell other fashion designers out there just how much he has helped me. Any queries I've had re: pricing, how to approach retailers etc. Renato has helped me with, and given me such professional advice. Nothing seems too much trouble to him, and I'm v grateful.

Its now June 2011 and its a very tough trading environment out there.

Just keep everything tight, your costs low and dont take risks unless they are very calculated.

We are a not for profit concern and we really do want to see your business succeed.

Also take advanage of the competitions we run - this is a cost effective way of you making just one garent (as in the case of Brand Alley) and then entering the competition to win. If you win you get your name in lights - a buy (not sale or return) and the case to get your entire collection bought the following season.
